The purpose of the reading was to gain wisdom from the difficulties I encountered around the retreat and my trip to Europe this past spring: participants who needed to cancel, problems flying into and out of Israel, and getting attacked by my niece’s dog. And I wanted to share another image that came up. This was the final card Jennifer drew for me, in response to the question: “What is the soul-level takeaway from this entire experience?”
This feels like a companion card to the woman with the backbreaking bouquet … and a dramatic contrast. This woman’s beautiful flowers are supporting her! She’s a worker—she’s leaned her rake against the tree—but in this tranquil moment she’s appreciating the fruits of her labors. How often do any of us do that? Sit back and notice what’s what’s ripe in our lives, give ourselves credit for the hard work we’ve done to get there?
One of the nicest harvest-appreciating things I’ve found to do is to take a beach chair to the park, sit in the shade of a tree, and read, of course with Rafiki chilling by my side. How do you recognize and honor your ripeness?
The beautiful card is from the Tarot of Mystical Moments.
